The Icfai Law School (ILS), a constituent of the ICFAI
University was established with the objective of developing a new cadre of legal
professionals through a comprehensive and contemporary body of integrated
knowledge and rigorous education and certification programs.
ILS offers five year full-time integrated program in law at Dehradun,
Uttarakhand.
Objectives
The objectives of ILS are:

To provide an
opportunity to students to study law as a core area and pursue an area of
interest by integrating law with the management/finance and to make an active
approach designed to be valued as a style of learning.

To provide
cutting edge inputs of specialized knowledge and legal skills blended with
emerging technology to meet the needs and manage problems of socio-economics
such as environmental protection, intellectual property rights,
e-business and cyber law.

To provide
interdisciplinary techniques and to develop alternative methods of analysis in
the light of contemporary business and legal environment.
Program
Approval from Bar Council of India
The Icfai Law School, Dehradun has been approved by the Bar
Council of India.
Networking
In its effort to provide quality education to the students,
ILS is in the process of developing networking relationships with the
international organizations, which are engaged in professional development,
legal and management education such as:

Seminars and Workshops
ILS has a concept that the "knowledge enriches with
sharing". Seminars and workshops are the places for sharing of knowledge.
ILS encourages and facilitates its faculty and students to present research
papers and take active participation in seminars and workshops. It has plans to
host national seminars in specialized areas of law like insurance, environment,
cyber law, intellectual property rights and other relevant fields. ILS will also
be conducting workshops for the students to develop their practical skills in
law.
Research and Publications
The law faculty is actively involved in the research
activities and contributing to different disciplines of law like environmental
law, intellectual property law, health law and cyber law. It conducts seminars,
extension lectures, faculty development programs, intercollegiate quiz programs,
debate and elocution competitions.
ILS motivates the students to learn and encourage writing a
substantial piece of original scholarship, under the supervision and guidance of
a faculty member/mentor. The students of ILS as a part of their clinical
curriculum will be undertaking research for participating in moot courts,
seminars and for contributing articles to the inhouse and other law journals. A
committee of students under the guidance of a faculty member will be editing a
student journal containing features on varied law subjects.
Law Journals
ILS publishes a range of ten law journals containing the
latest day to day developments in various fields of law, besides providing the
facility of Manupatra online. These have been long needed in the Indian legal
arena and contain insightful articles that go beyond the case law to provide
greater degree of understanding, indepth analysis, commentary, etc.

Icfai Journal of International Business Law : The journal discusses various
treaties, agreements, conventions and public international law relating to the
business across the globe with the help of case laws, law and regulations and
articles.

Icfai Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution : This journal advocates using
alternative dispute resolution mechanism in place of traditional litigations for
quicker and effective mode of dispute settlements.

The
Icfai Journal of Intellectual Property Rights:
It is a platform where national and international issues relating to various
classes of intellectual property such as patents, copyrights, trademarks,
geographical indications are discussed in the journal with the help of decided
cases, articles and other features.

Icfai Journal of Cyber Law : In
the advent of technology, growing application of information technology in all
fields of economy, this journal is most appropriate as it covers many issues
relating to cyber laws and its enforcement.

Icfai Journal of Environmental Law : The environmental law journal
is aimed to educate the public to understand the importance of world which is
free from the pollution. Global warming, sustainable development, industrial
pollution and enforcement machinery are some of the important areas covered by
the present journal.

Icfai Journal of Insurance Law: Insurance
business and its regulations are the core areas of this journal. It contains
various features like articles, decided cases, profiles of important
organizations and associations, latest laws and news relating to insurance
industry.

scenario is undergoing radical changes in the globalized economy. The law is
also taking its new shapes. This journal captures various trends of the legal
arena of banking industry and brings out solutions with the help of articles,
decided cases and other features.

Icfai Journal of Healthcare Law : Healthcare is one of the
important elements of social science. Regulating the healthcare providers is the
function of the healthcare law. The journal of healthcare law discusses various
issues relating to the healthcare law in India and across the globe.

Icfai Journal of Employment Law : This
journal covers various legislations concerning to the employment of organized
and unorganized labor. It also discusses various issues like discrimination of
workers at work place, payment of compensations to workmen and other labor laws.

Icfai Journal of Securities and Corporate Law : This journal discusses various
contemporary issues concern to mergers and acquisitions, security transactions,
global corporates and joint ventures and SEBI guidelines, decided cases and
corporate tax matters.
We are subscribing some more national and international journals for the
benefit of students, faculty members and other concerned.
