Faculty Resources

ILS has assembled a competent and committed faculty team. ILS plays a significant role in ensuring quality education through interactive teaching, continuous multiple criteria evaluation and feedback to students. The faculty bring their extensive knowledge, professional experience and advanced education to their task at ILS.

Guest Lectures

At ILS, guest lectures play an important role in the development process of the students. Eminent academicians and practicing legal professionals are invited for guest lectures where students understand the practical applications of various law and management concepts and ideas.

Computing Facilities

Latest hardware and software infrastructure are provided to cater to the computing needs of all the students and the training needs of information technology related courses. The ILS center is equipped with the required computing facilities and the students are guided by well experienced faculty to handle the computer labs. Leased internet is available to undertake research activities.

Library Facilities

The ILS center has well-stocked libraries containing a number of titles of Indian and international books and journals covering all the areas of law and management to meet the needs of the law students, faculty and research scholars.

  • Libraries contain a number of reporters and journals such as the All India Reporter, Arbitration Law Reporter, Company Law Journals, Tax Law Journals and many others in different areas of law. In addition, it contains law commission reports, draft bills, data bank of decided cases to facilitate the students in their seminar, clinical and project work.

  • CDs of case materials, decided cases and forms will also be available in the library.

Clinical Courses

ILS strongly believes that student’s exposure to real life situations develops expertise and sharpens lawyering skills. The clinical courses bridge the gap between theoretical study of law and realities and place the student into actual or simulated circumstances that require them to address client’s problems. The clinical courses focus on the development of expertise in client counseling discovery, negotiation and mediation, legal writing and trial skills. By participating in a clinic, students can gain legal practice experience in areas of their interest.

ILS curriculum contains four clinical courses to train the students in the lawyering skills.

Students Participation

ILS encourages participation of students in the activities of the law school particularly in extra curricular activities. Planning, event management, stage management, time management, editing of journals are some of the areas where they are trained with their deep involvement.

ILS encourages the students in organizing the moot courts, intercollegiate sports and games, quiz, annual day functions and other programs.

Internships

All students of ILS are required to undergo two internship Programs. Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the end of third year for a period of 8 weeks duration and Internship Program (IP) for a period of 22 weeks during either of the semesters in the fifth year of the program. The Internship will be organized all over India at Allahabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and other cities where high courts are located.

SIP and IP will be organized in various legal firms / corporates under the supervision of the advocates / judges of trial courts /high courts.
