   Test Date : May 04, 2008

ILSAT 2008 consists of a total of 150 questions that are to be attempted section-wise within the total allotted time of 180 minutes.There will be five sections having 30 questions each and each question carries one mark.

Each section contains questions in specified area. Some of the sample questions are given below to familiarize the applicants with the pattern.

Section I : English Language (30 Questions)

The section contains 5 types of questions.

1. Sentence Correction

Directions : The questions in this section contains an incorrect statement and the incorrectness is underlined followed by five options. Choose one of the apt options to correct the statement.

Section V –Reasoning (30 Questions)

Read the following paragraph. Apply the legal principle to the factual situation and choose the correct answer from the alternatives given below.

1. Legal Principle-Whoever causes the death of a person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both.

Factual situation-Two buses of APSRTC were trying to overtake each other near a ring road where a turn has to be negotiated. One of the buses collided with a lorry, overturned and plunged into a river resulting in the death of a few occupants of the bus and injuring others. Is the driver guilty of offence of causing death by negligence?

2. Legal principle-Nothing is an offence which is done in the exercise of Right of Private defence. Factual situation – Rahul and Chakraborthy are students staying in a boys hostel. Tanuja is a girl staying in the girls hostel. Both Rahul and Chakraborthy fell in love with Tanuja, They both quaralled and then started fighting over Tanuja.

One afternoon Rahul, accompanied by his friends and armed with sticks and iron-rods reached Chakraborthy’s room, and abused him. On seeing many boys in an offensive mood, Chakraborthy threw boiling tea on Rahul's face, due to which his face was disfigured.
